LLC State by State Naming Requirements

Deciding on a name for your new LLC can be exciting and challenging. Below are the requirements for all 50 states. Learn how to name your LLC based on each state's rules. 

Most states have many of the same requirements. These include: the name may not be the same as or deceptively similar to a name already in use, or a registered or reserved name, the LLC name must end with "Limited Liability Company," "LLC" or "L.L.C.", and it must not contain words implying a business purpose different from those in the Articles of Organization.
